Travel Tuesday….England bound with twins!

TravelTuesEdinburgh

We’re travelling to England and Scotland this week!

My husband and I and our five year old twins are flying out this week to England.  We’ll be staying in Ilkley and doing day trips from there.  My in-laws are living there right now and we’re going to spend some time with them.  This is a fantastic opportunity to travel with the kids without a huge room and board expense.

I also committed myself to a 60 posts in 60 days challenge through the Village Green Network  (a fabulous blogging network I belong to).  I’m not sure what I am thinking!  I think the next three weeks of posts are going to be travel related or they’ll at least have a British theme!

The above photo was taken in Edinburgh by Bert Kaufmann.  Edinburgh, Scotland is on my list of favorite places that I’ve traveled to.  My husband and I went together back in college (around 1998) and vowed to visit again.  I didn’t really expect it to take this long but here we are in 2013 heading to Edinburgh for a 3 day getaway together while my in-laws party with the kids!

I’m hoping to upload some pics and let you know what I learn on our journey!  I’m hoping to find some great Real Food and neat ideas to apply to our lives when we get back!

Are there any of you living in England right now?  What do you love about it?  What do you recommend as “must see” places?

Bon Voyage!

Bottoms Up! My favorite summer adult beverages…

I’ve had so many things going on in my life lately that sometimes I just want to kick back with a nice adult beverage and take a break.  I’m going to give you a quick synopsis of my kind of crazy….   1.  My Dad and Stepmother moved from Massachusetts to South Carolina. I flew up and drove a car down.  They rented then bought a house and moved in within about a month’s time. 2.  My sister moved locally. 3.  My in-laws came back to visit for a month from England.  4.  My brother in-law and sister in-law sold [...]

Define serenity and find it. Do it now!

scene

I see images like the one above and it I feel completely calm and at peace.  This scene is exactly what I was thinking about when I was looking for our new home on several acres.  Serenity for me had a lot to do with privacy.  I would joke often that I wanted to be able to walk around naked.  I really have no intention of doing that but the fact that I could is fantastic! My criteria: 1.  5 + acres of usable land (no big cliffs or drop offs). 2.  Not near any chicken farms. 3.  Pasture [...]
