Ingredients
- Ingredients:
- 1 lb grassfed ground sirloin (feel free to omit this or use ground turkey or chicken!)
- 1 can organic black beans
- 1 can organic pinto beans
- 1 can organic cannellini beans
- 1 can organic garbanzo beans
- 2 cans organic tomato paste
- 2 cups organic chicken broth (more if you like a chili with more liquid).
- 2 onions diced
- 1 small handful of brown sugar, about 1/3 cup (can substitute 1 tbsp molasses or other sweetener or omit altogether)
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp ground red cayenne pepper (easy on this, it can get HOT real quick!)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Saute minced garlic in oil on stove top, saute onions.
- Cook ground meat.
- Throw that with the rest of the list in the crockpot.
- I put it on low and let it marinate for about four hours.
Notes
I mix up what I use for beans. Depending on how many people I'm feeding I'll just keep increasing the cans of beans.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CHILI RECIPE = THE CORNBREAD RECIPE!!
I have a few options for my favorite cornbread recipes:
1. The Trader Joes Cornbread is great. I usually keep one on hand just in case! If you click the link it’ll take you to their suggested recipe with it. Looks interesting!
2. Buttermilk Cornbread. This one is fantastic. The only problem is that I have to think about it in advance and have the buttermilk!
3. Sour cream Cornbread. Another great one and I usually have sour cream on hand!
