Make Your Own Essential Oil Wall Shelf

April 20, 2014 By Kara 10 Comments

How to store your essential oils

How can you organize your essential oils?

What is the best way to display them?

How can you make your essential oils easily accessible?

Those are all questions I’ve been trying to answer myself!  I’ve become quite the essential oil junkie.  I can be found pouring over my Essential Oil Pocket Reference or experimenting with a new concoction at any given moment.  I’ve created a little collection of various oils and blends.  I had them in a drawer in my kitchen.  This setup was not working for the little OCD person inside of me who definitely prefers a place for everything.  I’ve squashed that little person since I do have children.  However, with essential oils, I just need to be able to access them easily at home.  I’m in love with the rustic look of pallet wood and my husband and I came up with this idea to organize my oils!  How do you buy quality essential oil and save money?  Click here to find out.  Learn about essential oils in my Life Sanity Natural Living Facebook group!  Don’t like making things?  Other people have used this to organize their oils on a wall or this for a counter top.

I love this, thank you for sharing! I’m curious how you attached the backing strips and shelves to three main pieces of wood. Did you use glue, nails, screws? I don’t see any shelving brackets.

I came across your great idea (I think it had been posted on Pinterest) and, like you, I love the rustic look of old wood. My husband and I are in the process of deconstructing a 120-year old cracker-style house. This is where I found the tongue-and-groove boards to make an essential oil storage unit for myself. We worked on it together, added a couple coat hooks on the front to hang some oil accessories and attached a nice metal and wood basket across the bottom to hold larger products such as V-6 oil, lotions, etc. Thank you so much for sharing your idea. I really love that it produced a beautiful piece of furniture created by my husband and myself!
