How do you make body butter with essential oils?
As I learn more and more about essential oils I get really excited about taking some of my old standard beauty recipes and adding a little essential oil kick to them! I love coconut oil, avocado oil, and sweet almond oil. All three do amazing things for your skin. I have a couple of other recipes using avocado oil. My avocado-honey facial and my honey-avocado oil facial scrub. I make my whipped body butter and add Frankincense and Lavender essential oils.
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp avocado oil
- 1/2 tsp sweet almond oil
- 5 drops Frankincense essential oil
- 5 drops Lavender essential oil
Directions
- Whip together all three oils in a mixer (I use my this mixer).
- Add essential oils.
- Place in a container of choice. I use some similar to these.. I try to avoid glass because I am usually barefoot and standing on tile when I apply. I can just see myself dropping a glass container!

I found essential oils ad when I was looking for body butter. The body butter goes on so smooth and smells so delicious, yes delicious. Give me a very fresh clean fragrance. And I do like smelling deliciously good.
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing.. when I first used it, I thought it was greasy and that I wouldn’t like it. But it did some kind of magic on my skin.. I am loving it now.. 🙂
Thanks! I’m glad you like it. The essential oils are a great addition to it.
How long do you have to mix the oils together before they solidify? I’m having problems.
The combination will not solidify unless you put it in the fridge. The coconut oil has probably warmed up and turned into a liquid. Pop in in the fridge for a little while and it will harden up to a better consistency! 🙂
